Harrison Ford Joins Captain America: New World Order as Thunderbolt Ross The Nerdy Basement

Harrison Ford Cast As Thunderbolt Ross In ‘Captain America: New World Order’

Harrison Ford is set to appear in ‘Captain America: New World Order’ and ‘Thunderbolts’

Harrison Ford has officially joined the MCU as he steps in to fill the void left behind by the late William Hurt who passed away earlier this year. Known for his roles as Han Solo in ‘Star Wars’ and Indiana Jones in ‘Indiana Jones’, the famed actor is the latest A-lister to join the MCU and will star opposite Anthony Mackie in ‘Captain America: New World Order’. The Ankler’s Jeff Sneider was among the many who spoke about this rumored casting most recently, with SlashFilm confirming the news late last week and Deadline further confirming the casting adding validity to prior reports today.

Not much is known about ‘Captain America: New World Order’ or ‘Thunderbolts’ as the plot details are tightly under wrap. But it is safe to assume that Harrison Ford stepping in to replace the late William Hurt means that Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross had a significant role to play in these upcoming films; further solidifying speculation that Ross’ alter ego the Red Hulk’s live-action debut is as inevitable as Thanos assembling the Infinity Gaunlet.

Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America The Nerdy Basement

‘Captain America: New World Order’ stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/The Leader, Carl Lumbly, and Harrison Ford as General Thunderbolt Ross. ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ series creator Malcolm Spellman wrote the script alongside the show’s staff writer Dalan Musson, Kevin Feige is set to produce, with Julius Onah set to direct.

‘Captain America: New World Order’ is slated to release on May 3, 2024.
