WWE SummerSlam 2019 – (Results)

Here are your WWE SummerSlam 2019 results that emanated live from Scotia Bank Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

WWE SummerSlam Kickoff Show Results:

1. Cruiserweight Championship Match: Drew Gulak (c) defeated Oney Lorcan after Gulak hit a cheap shot to Lorcan’s throat, then hit the Cyclone Crash to retain the championship.

2. Segment: Drake Maverick interrupted the kickoff show panel looking for R-Truth. Truth and Carmella were hiding in front of the desk. Maverick threw popcorn at them and chased them away.

3. Buddy Murphy defeated Apollo Crews by disqualification after Erik Rowan interfered and attacked Murphy and powerbombed him onto the ringpost. Rowan did this for Murphy ratting him out to Roman Reigns this past week on Smackdown.

4. Segment: Elias Samson cut a promo and played a song about how much he hated Toronto. Out came WWE Hall of Famer and Canadian hero, Adam “Edge” Copeland to a thunderous pop who responded by speared Elias to the delight of crowd!

5. Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (c) defeated The IIconics, Billie Kaye and Peyton Royce, to retain in their first title defense.

WWE SummerSlam 2019 Show Results:

1. Submission Match for the Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) defeated Natalya Neidhart by submission with the Disarmer.

2. Goldberg defeated Dolph Ziggler after hitting a brutal spear and then the Jackhammet for the win. After the match, Ziggler continued challenging Goldberg to get back into the ring, and kept getting speared.

3. United States Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) defeated Ricochet after Styles countered a Phoenix Splash into the Styles Clash. Afterwards, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson hit Ricochet with the Magic Killer.

4. Segment: NXT Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits, are going on about the match results so far until they are left speechless at the arrival of Hall Of Famer, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, and proceeded to ‘Whoo!’ and dance around backstage.

5. Smackdown Women’s Championship Match: Bayley (c) defeated Ember Moon with a Bayley-to-Belly suplex from the top rope to retain.

6. Kevin Owens defeated Shane McMahon. As per stipulation, Owens’ WWE career was on the line. Shane brought out Elias as the special enforcer. As expected, Elias kept interfering in the match on behalf of Shane. When the referee was accidentally bumped, Owens capitalized by attacking Elias with a chair. He teased hitting Shane with the chair, but the original referee recovered. As the ref removed the chair from the ring, Owens groing-kicked Shane, then hit the Stunner to win the match.

7. Charlotte Flair defeated Trish Stratus via submission with the Figure Eight. After the match, the Toronto crowd gave Stratus a standing ovation as she took a final bow.

8. WWE Championship Match: Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton ended in a double count-out. Orton hit an RKO on Kingston, who rolled out to the ring but Orton followed him and taunted Kingston’s family. Kofi got up and attacked Orton with a kendo stick he retrieved from under the ring, but the referee counted them both out.

9. ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt defeated Finn Bálor after he was able to counter the Coup de Grace with a Mandible Claw to win the match.

10. Universal Championship Match: Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar (c) after Rollins countered an F-5, hit a superkick, and connected with The Curb Stomp, his third of the match, to win the match and the Universal Championship. After the match, a battered and emotional

Highlights:
– Alexa Bliss had Buzz Lightyear-themed gear.
– Dolph Ziggler hit two devastating superkicks after the opening bell, catching Goldberg by surprise early on!
– Ricochet came out to wrestle in a Nightwing-inspired ring gear, based on the DC Comics superhero!
– After the Kingston-Orton match was declared a double count-out, the crowd booed lowly and chanted “bullshit!” repeatedly.
– Bray Wyatt, as The Fiend, debuted an incredible new entrance as well as a modified version of his original theme song.
– Rollins, while not 100% with injured ribs, shocked the crowd with his win over Lesnar. However, the defining moment of the match was when Rollins performed a huge frog splash from the top of the ring post, onto Lesnar who was laid out on the Spanish announce table!
