The following are the results of the August 27th, 2019 edition of WWE Smackdown Live, that emanated live from Baton Rouge, LA: 1. Roman Reigns was backstage before the show started and was stopped by Kayla Braxton. She asked him about Daniel Bryan and Rowan and he said he has something to say – but it was better to save it for the ring.2. The show kicked off with Kofi Kingston and he offered Randy a shot at the WWE Championship because all he ever wanted to do was prove he was a worthy champ. Randy appeared on the Titantron and threatened Kofi’s family who were staying in the same hotel as him. He even reads a leeter from a a ‘fan’ who happened to be Kofi’s son, Kai. Kofi ran backstage and attacked Orton, brawling with him. Orton gets the upper hand by hitting Kofi with a draping DDT onto the floor! He shouted “Stupid” three times before being dragged away by referees, while the officials tended to Kofi.3. Segment: Backstage, Big E announced that he would compete in a match with Randy Orton later in the night and get some retribution for what he did to Kofi.4. Match – King Of The Ring & Round 1: Ali defeats Buddy Murphy with the 450 Splash. After the match, Ali and Murphy shook hands out of mutual respect and sportsmanship.5. Segment: Women’s Champion Bayley and Ember Moon were backstage chatting and Lacey Evans walks in on them. She issues a challenge to the champ to a match later in the night, which Bayley gladly accepts.6. Segment: The Miz came out to the ring and sent out a challenge to Shinsuke Nakamura at Clash of Champions for the Intercontinental Championship. Sami Zayn came out and called him the King of Soft Style. Miz challenged Zayn to a match before Shinsuke Nakamura attacked him from behind. Sami Zayn made Shinsuke bring him into the ring and orders him to hit his Kinshasa finisher on The Miz, while Zayn hyped him up.7. Segment: Backstage, Kevin Owens entered Shane McMahon’s office but find Elias. Elias tells Owen that Shane wasn’t here at all. Owens just smiles and leaves the office.8. Match: Bayley defeats Lacey Evans with the Bayley-To-Belly Suplex. Charlotte Flair, who had come out mid-match to scout the match, sarcastically applauds Bayley on her victory.9. Segment: Backstage, Daniel Bryan and Erik Rowan are in an interview with Kayla Braxton and they are upset that it’s been a week they have been waiting for an apology from Roman Reigns.10. Match: Randy Orton defeats Big E with the RKO, after interference and distraction from The Revival, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. After the match, The Revival gave Big E a beatdown and helped Orton deliver another RKO and celebrate.11. Segment: Chad Gable was backstage being interviewed about his match against Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin walked in on his interview and made fun of Gable with short jokes.12. Segment: Elias was near the entrance way with his 24/7 championship and sits down on the King Of Ring throne and dresses up with the crown, robe and scepter. Kevin Owens attacks him while he’s cutting a promo. As the fight goes to ringside, Owens hits Elias with the Stunner. As Elias is down, Owens doesn’t go for the 24/7 title and leaves. R-Truth runs in tries to pin him but Drake Maverick shows up and drags him outside. Drake runs in and pins Elias to become 24/7 champion again! He celebrates by running around, circling the ring and tripping before finally exiting.13. Match – King Of The Ring – Round 1: Chad Gable defeats Shelton Benjamin with a small package in a fast-paced technical match. Chad Gable will face Andrade in the Quarter Finals next week!14. Segment: Roman Reigns comes out to ringside. Daniel Byan and Erik Rowan interrupt via the TitanTron, demanding an apology. Roman says he has little video clip to show first before he apologizes. The clip shows Rowan in the background on the set during the first attack on Roman. A shocked and confused Bryan furiously asks Rowan what he’s seeing and proceeds to slap him and calls him a liar! Bryan stormed to the ring and claimed innocence, having no idea why Rowan did that, that he hates liars and trusted him for over a year. Before he could continue saying anything else, Roman hits him with a vicious spear and stands tall as the show goes off the air.
