RE-CAP: WWE BACKSTAGE – 2019 YEAR-END AWARDS


Tuesday night’s edition of WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1 featured the 2019 Year-End Awards. These awards were only for the Raw and Smackdown brands. The NXT brand will have their own awards next Wednesday on USA Network.

There were six categories altogether, which also included nominees. To note, it was not specified how these winners were chosen. It can be said that they could have come from WWE higher-ups or Fox higher-ups that oversee the show.

Here’s a recap of the awards with the nominees included:

WWE MOMENT OF THE YEAR:
▪ Becky Lynch wins Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championships at WrestleMania 35 in the main event
▪ Kofi Kingston wins the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35
▪ Natalya and Lacey Evans have the first women’s match in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel
▪ Braun Strowman tackles Bobby Lashley through the LED wall on Raw.

WOMEN’S TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR

For next week’s WWE Backstage, it was announced that Roman Reigns vs Dolph Ziggler will be the main event for Fox’s New Year’s Eve Special hosted by Steve Harvey, with Maria Menounos and Rob Gronkowski serving on commentary for the match ▪
