‘Trolls Holiday in Harmony’ Review: A Fun Holiday Addition For The Whole Family

Queen Poppy, Branch, and Tiny Diamond bring tunes, flair, and holiday cheer to the Trolls franchise with the latest special, Trolls Holiday in Harmony. The holiday short, which first premiered on NBC and is now available on DVD and Digital, is a fun and whimsical selection for the holiday watch list. As with the films and other specials in the franchise, Trolls Holiday in Harmony has a solid soundtrack to which you can’t help but sing or dance along.

What is meant to be a fun date in a hot air balloon for Branch (Justin Timberlake) and Queen Poppy (Anna Kendrick) turns into a case of Poppy’s multitasking run rampant and sets into motion a series of events that causes Branch to spiral into slight chaos? Poppy takes it upon herself to spread holiday cheer by planning a Trolls Kingdom-wide secret gift swap. To his excitement, Tiny Diamond (Kenan Thompson) is given Guy Diamond (Kunal Nayyar) as his gift. He decides to write a rap for his father, only to lose the words. Meanwhile, Branch and Poppy draw each other’s names. Poppy helps out other Trolls with their gift ideas. Branch frets over finding the best present for Poppy.

He settles upon an idea only to see the enormous gift box Poppy has for him, and he freaks out and goes into overdrive. This results in him creating a hair-styling, scrapbooking, multitasking machine that ultimately falls to pieces. When the day comes to exchange gifts, all order is restored. Tiny Diamond found the right rhythm. Branch creates a personalized scrapbook for Poppy. Unable to decide on a present for Branch, Poppy decided to share a date with him that was devoid of multitasking and focused on them.

Trolls Holiday in Harmony is a fun holiday addition for the whole family during the holiday season. It likely won’t be considered a classic, but it is a nice and entertaining short to spread holiday cheer and togetherness. Rachel Bloom, Ron Funches, Anderson Paak, Esther Dean, and Walt Dohrn reprise roles in the special, alongside Anthony Ramos, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Karan Soni. Trolls Holiday in Harmony is now available for purchase on DVD or digital.
