While Umbrella Academy Season 2 has yet to be released, it seems like Netflix has greenlit a Season 3.
That’s right, your eyes are not deceiving you, The Umbrella Academy is getting a third season, at least according to the Writers Guild of America. At the time of this writing, there is very little information about this third season, other than Lauren Otero and Elizabeth Padden having joined the writing team. There also hasn’t been any official announcement from Netflix and rightfully so, Season 2 has yet to be released and at this very moment, there is still no release date for this second season.
But early-season renewals have become somewhat of the norm with Netflix as of late. Netflix renewed The Witcher for a second season a little over a month prior to release. It has also been revealed that Netflix’s upcoming live-action Cowboy Bebop series is already working on a second season; although the first season of the series has yet to wrap production. So it wouldn’t be too farfetched if Netflix has already renewed The Umbrella Academy for a third season.
