Earlier this year Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced that the second season of The Mandalorian would be arriving this October. While Disney has shut down every single live-action property that was in development ever since the nationwide shutdown due to COVID_19. The Mandalorian Season 2 wrapped production a mere week prior to this shutdown. That didn’t stop fans from growing concerns about whether or not we’d see a delay in release due to everyone now shifting to working remotely.
The Mandalorian show creator Jon Favreau confirmed during a Zoom call with the ATX Television Festival, which included other directors from The Mandalorian series, that Season 2 would indeed arrive in October despite what’s going on the world.
“We were lucky enough to have finished photography before the lockdown. Thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we’ve been able to do all of our visual effects and editing and all of the post-production remotely through systems that had been set up by those companies for us. So we’ve been very efficient in that sense, so it will be available as planned in October on Disney+.”
For those who needed any reassurance about this upcoming season the official word is out and The Mandalorian is still arriving this October. For the time being no trailers or anything of the sort has been released, but we have been speculating that we should expect something after the current Mando Docuseries comes to a close.
