Shadecraft live-action series coming to Netflix from comic creator Joe Henderson
A live-action adaptation of the Image Comics published comic book series Shadecraft is coming to Netflix. Earlier today Variety broke the news that Joe Henderson was developing a live-action Pokemon series for Netflix. In addition to that announcement, Variety revealed (news that was initially reported by The Hollywood Reporter) that Joe Henderson is also developing a live-action series for his “Shadecraft” comic book series which is currently being published through Image Comics.
Shadecraft was released at the end of March, earlier this year and has been a stellar hit amongst comic book readers. The latest issues of “Shadecraft” release this past week on July 21st. Joe Henderson who penned the original script with Captain Marvel artist Lee Garbett will co-write the pilot with writer Georgia Lee. Henderson and Lee will serve as executive producers and Garbett will serve as producer.
“Shadecraft” follows Zadie Lu, a girl afraid of her own shadow. She’s a teenager, so she REALLY should have grown out of it by now, right? But something weird is happening in her small town. Zadie could swear the shadows are coming to life. Watching her. Trying to KILL her. But how do you fight something you can’t even touch? And how does all of this tie into her FAMILY, of all things?
Join Zadie Lu as she ventures into the shadows to face her fears and discovers a legacy she never knew she had in a new series perfect for fans of the Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer, James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds’ Something Is Killing The Children and Veronica Fish and Kelly Thompson’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Shadecraft #1–5 are available now at your local comic book shops and will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.
