NIGHTMARE

For those who have been keeping up with all the confirmed and rumored reports both Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and WandaVision since their announcements know that both the show and the film will have deep connections. Scarlet Witch is appearing in Doctor Strange 2, and while it seems like Doctor Strange won’t be making an appearance, the reported villain for the Doctor Strange sequel will be making an appearance according to a new rumor report.

NIGHTMARE

According to Charles Murphy, Nightmare, the villain who will be facing off against Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange 2 will also be facing off against Scarlet Witch in the upcoming WandaVision Disney+ series furthering the already deep ties between the film and the series.

NIGHTMARE

This isn’t the first, the second or third time we hear about Nightmare making an appearance in the MCU. Doctor Strange screenwriter C. Robert Cargill, as well as director Scott Derrickson, have expressed their heavy interest in using Nightmare in the MCU, a claim that was first made by Scott Derrickson when he was first working on the first Doctor Strange film.

The report also suggests that the role of Nightmare has already been cast. It’ll be interesting to see who Marvel has cast to play the dark villain, and when Marvel will be ready to make an official announcement regarding the casting and the rumor report. As for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Darkness, director Scott Derrickson has already laid claim that the film will be the first horror film of the MCU.

There’s a wide range of potentiality when it comes to using Nightmare in both WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2. Reality-altering powers coming from Scarlet Witch, with Mystic Arts coming in with Doctor Strange as well as doors to other dimensions. Both the series and the film are poised to bring in something really unique to the MCU and could potentially lead to bigger, overarching storylines in the near future.
