Freeform the home of Marvel TV’s Cloak & Dagger has opted out of renewing their highly praised Marvel series, Cloak & Dagger for a third season. While the news comes as no surprise. Many fans of the series were highly anticipating a renewal. We reported on our site and on Twitter during NYCC earlier this month, that former head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb teased that The Runaways would crossover with Cloak & Dagger, since Cloak & Dagger were crossing over with The Runaways in their upcoming third season. Unfortunately, that bit of info didn’t come into fruition.
The cancelation comes in lieu of Kevin Feige getting promoted to CCO (Chief Creative Officer) of all of Marvel. Which gives him full control of Marvel TV, Marvel Animation and Marvel Comics, including Marvel Studios.
What will happen to The Runaways now that Cloak & Dagger is cancelled remains to be seen. On the bright side you can see Cloak & Dagger once again when they appear on The Runaways during their crossover episode.
The Runaways premieres December 13, exclusively on Hulu.
