Netflix has officially announced and confirmed a second season for their hit original series The Umbrella Academy. The announcement had leaked earlier last month but those sources were told to take down their reports since the announcements weren’t official.
So what do we know so far about this second season? Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá are still attached to the series as executive producers with Steve Blackman returning as showrunner for this upcoming season.
This second season is set to start filming June 17th in Toronto and will wrap filming on November 15th.
Returning cast members will be all of the lead cast consisting of Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castñeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aiden Gallagher and Justin Min, who together make up The Umbrella Academy. There is no word on the return of Hazel and Cha-Cha. Granted they both “died” at the end of the season. But given how the academy went back in time will the help of Number Five, we can only speculate that their reemergence is inevitable.
