The CW’s Arrowverse is heading to HBO Max, as the streaming service becomes the exclusive home for the Greg Berlanti produced shows. As rounds of announcements for HBO Max were made public, Variety revealed that all of the CW dramas will be exclusively streamed on HBO Max going forward. Starting with this year’s Batwoman and Katy Keene, a Riverdale spin-off series.
Variety also reveals that the CW shows going forward will be available on HBO Max 30 days prior to the television premiere of the following season of that show, example, if and when Batwoman gets a second season, the first season will premiere 30 days before the premiere episode of season two.
There’s no mention of any of the previous seasons of the CW drama shows, most importantly the Arrowverse dramas. These shows are currently available for streaming on Netflix and The CW, although for a limited time. It’ll be interesting to see how The CW and WB work things out.
HBO Max launches in May 2020.
