The fan outcry for Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League has reached peak levels as the two-year anniversary for the theatrical release of the film has come and gone. With HBO Max on the horizon, talks on the internet swirled in hopes that Warner Bros. would release Snyder’s Justice League cut on the streaming service. The hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut was trending worldwide on Twitter on the film’s two-year anniversary, with the cast, crew, and the director himself Zack Snyder rallying behind the fans urging WB to release the unseen cut.
We won’t dive deep into that aspect of the Snyder Cut because we’ve covered that before and have joined the cause on our social media pages. In a new report by Variety, an insider for the Hollywood trade has revealed that the Snyder Cut of Justice League is just a “pipe dream”. “There’s no way it’s ever happening”, says the insider. The unfortunate truth is that Warner Bros. is not willing to spend millions of dollars to finish an unfinished film. Does the film exist? Well, if we go based off of what Zack Snyder has been releasing on Vero as of late, including what the cast and crew have also released on their respective social media pages, then yes, the film does exist.
Everything that we have seen based on these new images alone shows that a huge portion of the film was cut and that those reshoots and rewrites from director Joss Whedon, including studio meddling, severely affected the final product and probably the film’s quality. Does Warner Bros. have a sleeper in their hands with the Snyder Cut of Justice League? Truth is, we will never know…until that film is actually released.
