Creed 2 director Steven Caple Jr. has been tapped to direct Paramount Pictures’ untitled Transformers film
Earlier this year, before the massive wave of lockdowns and production halts, Paramount Pictures announced two brand new live-action films to further expand their Transformers film franchise. The news came off the heels of the massive success in the soft live-action reboot with the release of the Bumblebee solo film which to everyone’s surprise was a huge success and breathed a breath of much-needed fresh air into the franchise that had seemed to have run its course.
This week, Deadline has reported that Creed 2 director Steven Caple Jr. has been tapped by Paramount to direct the next Transformers film. While negotiations have yet to commence between the director and the studio, insiders have informed Deadline that Caple Jr. is Paramount’s top choice and a deal is expected to be finalized sometime in the coming weeks.
As I mentioned above, two live-action Transformers films were announced back in January and both films, untitled at the moment were sent into active development simultaneously. With two scripts being written by James Vanderbilt and one by Joby Harold.
