The long-awaited New Mutants film has finally received a second trailer and it has put our young mutants in pits of horror!
After several delays, reports of reshoots and rewrites. The responsibility of distributing and finishing production on New Mutants fell upon Disney’s lap. During the closing weeks of 2019, reports surfaced a trailer being released today, which it did; as well as a brand-new still image (pictured below), this version of New Mutants will be the original version directed by Josh Boone. The means no reshoots, rewrites or anything of those sorts.
While the cast won’t don their comic costumes to a degree. Based on the trailer it seems that the Mutants will have their comic book “look” when using their powers as opposed to walking around in full costumes throughout the entirety of the film. The one exception seems to be Anya Taylor-Joy’s Magik who powers go on full display as she wields her Soulsword and dons her comic book accurate armor.
New Mutants has received Marvel’s seal of approval and while the New Mutants won’t be part of the MCU and will be the last film in Fox’s X-Men Universe. It looks like Josh Boone will delivering something worthy enough to put butts in seats.
