The Batman: Matt Reeves Reportedly Introducing a New Joker in his planned Trilogy

According to a new report from The Direct via Daniel Richtman, Matt Reeves will be introducing a new Joker in his upcoming Batman trilogy starring Robert Pattinson. If this report turns out to be true, this will mark the fifth live-action feature film iteration of The Joker. We most recently watched Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker in 2019’s Joker directed by Todd Phillips. While any details belong this initial report is still scarce, its almost a given that with every new Batman trilogy, a new Joker is also on the way.

While Jared Leto’s Joker (Suicide Squad) was only featured in one film. His Joker did have a canonical history with Ben Affleck’s Batman in the DCEU. Unfortunately, we never got to see the two interact in their past, present, and now voided future history.

For the most part live-action version of The Joker has always been one and done. Never have we seen The Joker featured in more than one Batman film. So if this report is true, then Matt Reeves has some really big plans for his Batman trilogy, especially The Joker.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Andy Serkis, and Jeffrey Wright.
