In the midst of the hype of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man teaming up with the Avengers to stop Thanos from snapping half of the universe away in Avengers: Infinity War. Sony stepped up to the plate with the debut of Miles Morales on the big screen in their animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. A film that adapted the highly praised comic book storyline “Spider-Verse” by former Spider-Man writer Dan Slott.
Today, the official Twitter account for Into the Spider-Verse officially announced a sequel film and an official release date for the film, and a small teaser which you can check out below.
All it took was a leap of faith….
Into the Spider-Verse became a critically acclaimed film who went on to win an Academy Award for Best Animated Film. Fans weren’t far behind when it came to praising Sony Pictures for their hit animated feature. Praising it enough to demand a sequel film. Fans asked, and Sony delivered.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters April 8, 2022.
