Spider-Man: Far From Home has just released a brand new, jam packed trailer and it is full of Avengers: Endgame spoilers. So if you haven’t watched Avengers: Endgame, this your complimentary spoiler warning before we dive into what this trailer reveals and how the events of Avengers: Endgame has already affected the broader MCU.
Taking place only minutes after the events of Avengers: Endgame we immediately find ourselves back in our emotional graveyards, holding back tears as the world, Peter Parker and Happy Hogan are still mourning the loss of Tony Stark/Iron Man (We Love You 3000). If you have seen Avengers: Endgame, you know Tony Stark wielded the Infinity Gauntlet and snapped his fingers. In thus saving the universe, but dying in the process.
Peter Parker is still using his Iron Spider suit, which is great because we need to see more of that suit in action. Luckily for us, we finally got to see Instant Kill mode in Endgame and in this trailer we now see how much more intuitive the suit is and how much Peter has improved in using the suit.
The big takeaway from this spoiler filled trailer is our introduction to Mysterio and his supposed origin. Now we reported via Instagram just a few days ago, that a rumor was swirling around about Mysterio and how he would be from another Earth. Therefore introducing us the fans and the MCU to The Multiverse. Also confirming the rumor of Mysterio’s origin and where he is from. While the trailer doesn’t indicate which Earth he is from, we can just go with the flow and find out when we watch Spider-Man: Far From Home this Summer.
There was also a couple nods to other Avengers, like Thor and Captain Marvel who, if you didn’t notice, its the first time Carol Danvers is mentioned by her superhero name Captain Marvel. She’s not called Captain Marvel in her solo film or Avengers: Endgame.
We also learn about Thor’s whereabouts. As Nick Fury tells Spider-Man that he’s “off world”. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out as Avengers: Endgame sets up Guardians 3 nicely by having Thor join the team and dubbing them The Asgardians of The Galaxy.
We also got to see Hydro Man and Molten Man in action. This time the focus was more on Molten Man and how the fiery Elemental will be a huge threat to Spider-Man in this film. We have to find out if these Elementals are the doings of Mysterio or if they are villains from his Earth, that he somehow manages to bring along the way.
The MCU is shaping up real nicely, despite Spider-Man: Far From Home serving as the closing chapter of Marvel’s Phase 3.
Spider-Man: Far From Home arrives in theaters July 2nd. Tickets available now.
