On Wednesday morning, Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani announced the nominees for the 30th Annual SAG Awards, recognizing individual performances and casts from film and television in the past year. The announcements were made live on the official Netflix Instagram account on Instagram live. Leading in nominations are the Margot Robbie-led ‘Barbie’ and the Cillian Murphy-led ‘Oppenheimer’ both are tied with 4 nominations including Best Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture. Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal continue to strut high as both stars have been nominated for their work on HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’. Here’s to hoping the duo walk away with a win this time.
Every award ceremony is not without its snubs. Notably missing from this year’s list of SAG Awards nominees are Zac Efron for his role in A24’s ‘The Iron Claw’, no nomination for Greta Lee and her role in A24’s ‘Past Lives’, Leonardo DiCaprio’s also with no nomination for his role in Apple’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, same for ‘Succession’ star Jeremy Strong. Coming hot off critical and fan praise, not one member of the ‘May December’ cast received a nomination.
