HBO Max Pa’Lante celebrates The Documentary Film “Romeo Santos: King Of Bachata” With Interactive NYC Pop-Up House Of Bachata
In celebration of the upcoming release of Romeo Santos: King of Bachata and Romeo Santos: HBO Max Pa’Lante! is celebrating the release with a one-of-a-kind interactive New York City pop-up, ‘House of Bachata’. The week-long pop-up experience takes place in Washington Heights, the heart of the Dominican diaspora on 421 W 202nd Street (10th Ave) from July 30th – August 6th from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm ET.
The ‘House of Bachata’ will transport you to a space that celebrates Dominican culture and the heart and soul of that Dominican culture which lies in its most beloved musical genre, bachata. ‘House of Bachata’ will feature iconic fixtures such as bodegas, barbershops, and salons. Things most Dominican men and women are known for (other than our amazing food, of course).
In partnership with the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute, the ‘House of Bachata’ will showcase the history of bachata as well as highlighting its greatest icons and their respective contributions to the genre. Programming and special events throughout the week will include an Opening Night VIP reception, Bachata dance lessons, screenings for the Romeo Santos: King of Bachata documentary, children’s instrument classes, and many more things.

Romeo Santos: King of Bachata and Romeo Santos: Utopia Live From MetLife Stadium will release on HBO Max July 30th. The documentary traces the ascent of the disenfranchised genre from the oppressed countryside of the Dominican Republic to its unprecedented international recognition—culminating in a record-breaking concert starring Romeo Santos, alongside the legendary bachateros that paved the way before him.
