Warner Bros. and company are still brushing off the remains of the Post-Snyder DCEU. With Wonder Woman becoming a massive hit post Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice andJustice League. (You can include Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman in that 1% of successful DCEU films with it crossing the $1B dollar mark shortly after its release these past holidays).
With Justice League suffering the loss of Zack Snyder and then adding on the reshoots that came along with ‘Avengers’director Joss Whedon. Justice League did well below fan and studio expectations. But that doesn’t stop there. The DCEU as whole has suffered from complete indecisiveness from Warner Bros.and their executives. The consequences?
Ben Affleck out as Batman. Henry Cavill out as Superman. Ezra Miller fighting for a chance to stay onboard as The Flash and now Ray Fisher rumored to no longer be Cyborg. That’s not including the silent cancellations of certain films and Warner Bros/DC Films wanting to focus on solo films instead of an interconnected Cinematic Universe like the one Marvel Studios has.
According to We Got This Covered, Warner Bros. has no interest in continuing Cyborg‘s story that was set up with his introduction in Justice League. Now that seemed pretty obvious only because we have a new Cyborg in the form of Jovian Wade, who plays Victor Stone/Cyborg on DC Universe‘s Doom Patrol.
Does this situation sound a little familiar? Of course it does! Warner Bros. has the same plans for Henry Cavill and Superman. They decided to not move forward with Man of Steel 2 and instead they want to focus on a Supergirl solo film.
It’s unfortunate for Ray Fisher because it seemed like there was some hope for his character and his solo film, given his introduction and how his arc ended at the end of Justice League, but we do have an awesome Cyborg currently killing it on Doom Patrol.
