JOKER WINS BIG AT THE GOLDEN GLOBES

GOLDEN GLOBES

Joker has earned a long list of unexpected but rightfully earned success since its release this past October. Joker became a box office and critical success, thus becoming the first R-rated film to gross $1B at the global box office. Directed by Todd Phillips, starring Joaquin Phoenix; Joker found itself with a long list of nominations at last night’s Golden Globes Awards.

Last night, Joker star Joaquin Phoenix walked away with the Golden Globes Best Actor Award. An award that fans and critics alike have been overly vocal about, an award that was more than rightfully earned due to Joaquin’s performance as the Clown Prince of Crime.

That wasn’t the only award Joker walked away with. Composer Hildur Guðnadóttir walked away with the Golden Globes Best Original Score Award. Becoming the first solo female composer to walk away with this award. Another achievement that was more than rightfully earned. The beautiful but yet haunting composition in Hildur’s Joker score truly catapulted the film to a higher level.

Joker has cemented itself in history as a breakout hit and it stands at the top of successful R-rated comic book films. A milestone that is sure to change the landscape of comic book films going forward.
