HENRY CAVILL ADDRESSES HIS FUTURE AS SUPERMAN

Henry Cavill’s role in the DCEU for the most part is still “unconfirmed”. Before today, the last we heard about Henry Cavill’s future as Superman was in September 2018. THR reported that Cavill and WB were ‘ parting ways’. Both Cavill and the studio declined to substantially comment on the report and no announcement of his replacement has been made since.

THR’s report came out just around the same time Henry officially announced his leading role as ‘Geralt of Rivia‘ in Netflix’s ‘ The Witcher’ series. With the high potential of ‘ The Witcher’ being a hit series in the long term, Cavill’s time and commitment is largely taken. Not leaving fans with much hope…

However, a tiny bit of light has shined as Cavill spokes with ‘Men’s Health Magazine’ about his future as Superman:

“The cape is in the closet,”… Cavill says. “It’s still mine… I’ve not given up on the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s more important to me. There’s a lot of Justice to be done for Superman. The Status is: You’ll see”.

So… It’s not necessarily a confirmation of ‘Man of Steel 2’ or of any movies including Cavill’s Superman in the works. But this does indicate that HE has not given up on Superman and he has hopes to return wearing the red cape in the future.

On a side note, following the mass social media event where hundreds of thousands of Zack Snyder fans took to Twitter pushing the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement. Cast and crew of the #SnyderCut joined in with their support, members such as Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher and even the man himself, Zack Snyder posted in solidarity of the movement. Unfortunately we didn’t hear from Henry, however hope still holds with Zack Snyder’s post in Vero:

Meanwhile deep inside every fans mind, we’re just like:
