BIRDS OF PREY RESHOOTS DRAMATICALLY IMPROVE FILM’S TEST SCREENINGS, R-RATING ALMOST A GUARANTEE

BIRDS OF PREY

Whenever the term “reshoots” is attached to any film, primarily comic book films. The term is greeted with fear and almost immediate backlash. While reshoots are normal for ALL films, including independent films, Hollywood films, short films, etc, all films no matter how big or how small undergo reshoots and Birds of Prey is no exception.

In a new report by Variety, an insider for the Hollywood trade has revealed to them that the recent reshoots for the upcoming film have dramatically improved the film’s test screening results. In turn, upped the studios’ confidence that the film will be well received by audiences when it arrives this February.

Additionally, Birds of Prey, as well as James Gunn’s upcoming film The Suicide Squad, are most likely to receive an R-rating. This should come as no surprise given how successful Joker has become, thus becoming the first R-rated film, ever, to hit the $1B mark!

The same insiders described the Birds of Prey film as a “humorous, spirited, girl gang adventure, albeit not one for younger children”. Which if we read between the lines, it means that the film is definitely in the range of an R-rating.

Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn arrives in theaters on February 7, 2020.
