ANDY SERKIS AND COLIN FARRELL JOIN THE CAST OF THE BATMAN

Matt Reeves is just about rounding up his final casting calls for his upcoming Batman solo film. Joining the fray is actor/director Andy Serkis as Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Also joining the cast is Colin Farrell who will portray Oswalt Cobblepot aka The Penguin.

Variety and Deadline are both reporting that both actors are just in negotiations but reports based on other outlets and social media, are reporting it as official. As for any other casting news in regards to the Batman film. Matt Reeves typically takes to Twitter to confirm and/or debunk any and all casting news. Recently Matt Reeves confirmed Zoe Kravits’ casting as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Reeves also confirmed Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the same fashion.

Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, and Zoe Kravits make up the official trinity of villains to face off against Batman in the upcoming film. Furthermore, we now awaiting official casting news for Harvey Dent and the remaining rogues that are set to make appearances in the film.

While the casting for this film is shaping up to be something truly epic and amazing. It is hard to refrain from saying that the roles for these characters probably should be switched. In a more perfect world, Andy Serkis would be portraying The Penguin, while Colin Farrell portrays Alfred Pennyworth.

The Batman is set to arrive in theaters June 25, 2021
