Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of the upcoming Matrix 4.
Variety has reported that Chopra Jonas should be in final ‘closing talks’ to join the fourth film in The Matrix franchise. However, details of the Indian beauty’s tentative character role is unknown but it is likely being kept under wraps for the time being.
If Chopra Jonas signs on for the highly anticipated sequel to the upcoming sci-fi franchise, the actress would be joining actors Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively. She will also join franchise newcomers, fan-favorite Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and breakout Aquaman star, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
There is no word yet on whether Laurence Fishburne will be returning as Morpheus, or whether he has been approached to return to the saga. However, the report does state that Warner Bros. is reportedly looking for two actors to portray younger versions of his character as well as Neo.
The Matrix 4 is scheduled to be released on May 21, 2021. Consequently, that is also the same day that John Wick 4, also starring Reeves, will hit theaters as well ▪
