Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther ‘War For Wakanda’ Expansion Gets August Release Date – E3 2021

Square Enix reveals release dates for the Cosmic Cube villain event and War For Wakanda expansion

The long awaited release date for Marvel’s Avengers: War For Wakanda expansion has finally been announced today during Square Enix’s Square Enix Presents E3 2021 showcase. While the announcements and reveals were kept rather minimal featuring absolutely zero gameplay footage for the Black Panther who will make his debut in the game when the War for Wakanda expansion releases this August, we got an official cinematic trailer featuring Black Panther and how the live-action Ryan Coogler directed Black Panther film inspired the look and feel of Wakanda in the game as well as it antagonist Ulysses Klaue.

In the War for Wakanda expansion players will play as T’challa aka The Black Panther as he aims to stop an invading Klaw from stealing the strongest metal on earth…Vibranium. Pretty straightforward but if there’s anything that we can speculate about right now is that Klaw could just be the tip of the iceberg of what to come in Marvel’s Avengers and to Wakanda through the lens of Black Panther. As well as seeing the African King join the Avengers as he has in the comics and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Before players can get their hands on Black Panther they’ll have to face off against the Scientist Supreme and AIM leader Monica Rappaccini as she looks to reshape the world with the cosmic power of the Cosmic Cube. Marvel’s Avengers Cosmic Cube villain event will launch June 22nd. And for those wondering both the Cosmic Cube event and War for Wakanda expansion will be free to all players who own the base game.
