The highly anticipated sequel to the hit PS3 exclusive game The Last of Us, The Last of Us Part II has been delayed by development studio Naughty Dog.
The Last of Us Part II was confirmed to release on February 21, 2020 a little over a month ago. In an official statement, released by Naught Dog. The studio revealed the following:
“We realized we simply didn’t have enough time to bring the entire game up to a level of polish we would call Naughty Dog quality.”
Given Naughty Dog’s successful track record, a delay like this, while unfortunate, should be appreciated by fans of the game and the development studio. Delays on video games have always been a thing. Majority of the times it results in a much lesser quality product. In other times, players have been given a much better quality game that not only stand up to the expectations of players, but also to the standard of the developers making the game.
Naught Dog’s The Last of Us Part II is now slated to release on May 29, 2020.
