John Constantine: Hellblazer Vol. 1: Marks of Woe

John Constantine: Hellblazer Vol. 1: Marks of Woe — Arrives Next Tuesday!

Hellblazer

The bastard is back. England’s legendary street-level sorcerer has returned to his grimy roots with a second lease on life. Which leaves him with just one question:

How the hell did that happen?

John Constantine is back the way you remember him in John Constantine: Hellblazer Vol. 1: Marks of Woe from Si Spurrier (The Dreaming) and Aaron Campbell (Infidel), and he’s back to his old tricks—and just in time, as things have become very dark indeed in his old stomping grounds. Brutally retrieved from a tangle of apocalyptic futures and outright insanity, the working-class magus finds himself restored to the haunted shadows of London, where local gangsters are being shredded by terrifying entities. Their boss wants to hire Constantine to help, and without a penny in his pocket—and with a gun in his face—who is he to say no?

John doesn’t have much choice about taking a paycheck from one of London’s worst, or accepting the help of one of the gang lord’s would-be foot soldiers. But this isn’t an open-and-shut exorcism. To put this madness back in its bottle, John must work with the man who tried to replace him during his missing years, and confront an impossible power with a horribly familiar face…

Constantine has nothing to his name but decades of bad memories and an unearned second chance. How, exactly, will he squander it? There’s only one way to find out…

On September 29, 2020, one of the DC Universe’s most iconic characters comes screaming and swearing back to the comics page in John Constantine: Hellblazer Vol. 1: Marks of Woe (9781779502896), courtesy of infernal talents Simon Spurrier, Aaron Campbell, Matías Bergara, Marcio Takara, and more!

John Constantine: Hellblazer Vol. 1: Marks of Woe collects The Sandman Universe Presents: Hellblazer #1, John Constantine: Hellblazer #1-6, and Books of Magic #14.

I for one was so excited to see John Constantine return to Hellblazer and especially in the Sandman Universe! This run was truly meant to be it is the best place for him. Each issue gave you a whole new outlook on the magic in the DC Universe and how much a price it truly costs. Truly saddened it was cut short. But good news for all I’m sure if we all get the new trade we can insight a revival! Let us know what you thought of this series.
