“Agent Carter” and “Captain America” trilogy star Hayley Atwell has been cast as Lara Croft in Netflix’s upcoming “Tomb Raider” anime series. The joint venture between Netflix and Legendary Television will mark the anime debut of Lara Croft with the story set to pick up after the events of the “Tomb Raider’ reboot trilogy developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montreal, and published by Square Enix back in March of 2013.
Hayley Atwell has been building quite the resume when it comes to voice-over work. Atwell has appeared in Disney XD’s “Avengers Assemble” as well as Netflix’s “3Below: Tales of Arcadia”, and most recently Marvel Studios’ “What If…?” animated series. Netflix and Legendary’s “Tomb Raider” anime series will be executive produced by Tasha Huo who will also serve as the series writer. At the time of this writing, there is no official release date or window for the “Tomb Raider” anime series.
