The first of two Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal anime feature films has gotten an official Japanese release date from Toei Animation. The first film will open in Japan on September 11, 2020. Toei Animation has yet to reveal when the second anime feature will be getting its official release date.
The two films will take the place of the fourth season of Sailor Moon Crystal and will be adapting the Dead Moon Arc from the original manga. Naoko Takeuchi, creator of the original manga will be credited in the film for the original work and supervision. Chiaki Kon will be directing both anime films. Kazuko Tadano the original Sailor Moon character designer is back to design the characters for the film. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu will be penning the script. Toei Animation and Studio DEEN will be co-producing the film. Toei will be in charge of distribution.
Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie lands in Japanese theaters September 11, 2020.
