It’s One vs All in this week’s episode of My Hero Academia, as Lemillion makes his stand against the Shie Hassaikai in a solo effort to rescue Eri. We have finally gotten to the battle or at least part of the big battle we have all been waiting for. It’s all been leading up to this and the fate of our heroes, more specifically Lemillion is at high risk.
While I personally feel that the entirety of the episode should’ve centered itself around the fight between Overhaul and Lemillion, the little flashbacks we got to Mirio’s past were touching. We find out how and when Mirio was inspired to become a hero. We find out how his father, who has the same quirk he does, gave up his dreams of being a hero due to the difficulty of being able to control the Permeation quirk. The heartfelt moment is that despite giving up his dreams, Mirio’s father would support and help train Mirio throughout his endeavors during his journey to becoming a Pro Hero.
We get to meet two more members of the Eight Bullets, Sakaki and Nemoto who initially intervene to stop Lemillion from getting to Overhaul and Eri. While briefly being able to stop Lemillion, his strong will is what helps him overcome both of them and is able to get the jump on Overhaul, taking out his right hand momentarily to initiate the display of power between Lemillion and Overhaul.
I can sit here all day and praise both Lemillion and Overhaul for their powersets and their masterful quirk usage and display, but this is something you need to see for yourselves. We really learn how powerful Chisaki is and how powerful his Overhaul quirk is. Not only that, we truly see how dangerous he can truly become when angered. The premiere episode of this season was truly nothing compared to what was displayed here.
As for Lemillion, the mastery of his quirk and how powerful he is truly shined. Even after having his quirk taken away (watch the episode and see how he sacrifices himself and gets it taken away), he still manages to inflict some damage on Overhaul. This was just on sheer will and strength alone. Truly showing why Nighteye wanted All Might to choose Mirio as his successor. It’s truly beautiful and it makes you a fan of Lemillion if you weren’t a fan of him already.
This week we really get back to what we all love to see from My Hero Academia. Intense action sequences, heartfelt character background stories and of course the heroes laying it all on the line for the greater good. While I’ve had personal complaints about this season, and minimal ones. This episode delivered on all aspects.
I won’t get too much into Overhaul’s past because it’s briefly touched so I’ll save that for when we get more about his backstory and as to why he despises the name Chisaki.
