Classic “Mobile Suit Gundam” Premieres Today on Crunchyroll
Crunchyroll, the world’s most popular anime brand, is adding today “Mobile Suit Gundam,” the first series within the iconic Gundam franchise, to its extensive anime library of more than 1,000 titles and 30,000 episodes. All 42 episodes of the godfather of the mecha genre will be headed to Crunchyroll today, in both English dub and subtitles. The subtitled series will also be coming soon to Crunchyroll’s international regions in French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.
The series, also known as “Mobile Suit Gundam 0079,” follows young Amuro Ray as he controls the white mobile suit Gundam. “Mobile Suit Gundam” complements the more than 10 Gundam titles currently available for fan’s streaming pleasure. Crunchyroll serves more than 90 million registered users and 3 million subscribers in more than 200 countries and territories. Crunchyroll’s online community also includes more than 45 million followers across social media.
About “Mobile Suit Gundam” – Universal Century 0079. The rebel space colonies of the Principality of Zeon launch a war of independence against the Earth Federation, using humanoid fighting vehicles called mobile suits to overwhelm the Federation Forces and conquer half of Earth’s surface. Months later, the Federation has finally developed its own prototype mobile suits at a remote space colony. But when the colony suffers a Zeon surprise attack, these new weapons fall into the hands of a motley crew of civilians and cadets.
