The upcoming sci-fi anime by KADOKAWA and acclaimed Fate/Zero director Ei Aoki ID:INVADED is heading to Funimation’s Winter 2020 lineup starting this January. The announcement was made during AnimeNYC and was also announced on Twitter.
Set in a virtual world, the visually stunning ID: INVADED follows Sakaido, a detective looking to solve the grisly murder of Kaeru, a young girl. But solving this case is unlike any other as the world begins to twist and turn around Sakaido, challenging what he thinks and believes.
Think Inception meets a black hole. It’s a trippy, moving art piece that is sure to be a feast for the eyes.
The team behind the series is stocked with iconic talent, including novelist Otaro Maijo (The Dragon Dentist) on scriptwriting, Yuuki Kodama (Blood Lad) as character designer and Daisuke Mataga (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) as lead animator. Voice actors Kenjiro Tsuda (Attack on Titan, Fire Force) and Yoshimasa Hosoya (My Hero Academia, Kuroko’s Basketball, Free! Eternal Summer) lead an incredible cast, as well.
