WWE Smackdown Live – 08/06/2019 – (Results)


The following are the results of the August 6th, 2019 edition of WWE Smackdown Live, that emanated from Detroit, Michigan:

1. Charlotte Flair and RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defeated Natalya Neidhart and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus by disqualification.

2. Dolph Ziggler vs. Rey Mysterio ended in no contest. Prior to the match, Ziggler made his way out to the ring in mocking Goldberg with his entrance music and with his own security detail. As Rey made his way to the ring, Ziggler brutalized him before being pulled away by security. Out comes Mustafa Ali to check on Rey and proceeds to enter the ring and attacks Ziggler. Since Mysterio was not able to compete, Ali takes his place and challenges to a match.

3. Dolph Ziggler defeated Mustafa Ali after catching him off guard with a superkick..

4. Segment: Kayla Braxton sits down for an interview with Roman Reigns in regards to the mysterious assailant and attacks that have transpired over the past couple of weeks. Reigns also takes the time to apologize to Samoa Joe for the accusations and for having his name dragged in the mud. Reigns hopes to get to the bottom of this, as he has more questions than answers.

5. Natalya Neidhart vs. Ember Moon ends in a double count-out when Natalya performs her sharpshooter submission on Moon outside the ring and the referee calls for the 10-count. Nataya refuses to release the hold, forcing WWE Women’s Champion Bayley

6. WWE aired a special tribute video honoring the memory of the late, great Harley Race.

7. Segment: Kevin Owens hosts “The KO Show” and his guest is his SummerSlam opponent, Shane McMahon. They both have a verbal exchange in regards to their match on Sunday, where if Owens is defeated he quits. Owens says we don’t have to wait till Sunday to settle things and they proceed to push away the chairs and props. Just as Owens and Shane were gonna duke it out, Elias Samson runs in causing a distraction, allowing Shane and Elias to gang up on Owens. Owens gets the upper hand by performing a Stone Cold Stunner on Elias on top of the table, but is thwarted by Shane right after. Shane then proceeds to turn the table on top of Owens. Shane continues to attack Owens with a chair, leaving him unconscious and trapped while referees and officials try to stop the assault.

8. Segment: Sami Zayn comes out and delivers a promo regarding Alleister Black and how he responded to challenge him and kill his hype Sunday at SummerSlam. Black comes out and acknowledges his challenge at SummerSlam. However, he then informs Zayn that they don’t have to wait till SummerSlam and they can fight tonight. Zayn accepts and the match is official.

9. Alleister Black defeated Sami Zayn with his Black Mass spin-kick finisher.

10. Segment: Shelton Benjamin is backstage and gets asked if he ever intends to challenge for the 24/7 title, to which he spends an amount of time thinking until he responds: “Well…” and walks away.

11. Segment: Bray Wyatt is at the Firefly Hun House and talks about facing Finn Balor at SummerSlam. Wyatt says Balor made a mistake of inviting The Fiend willingly before transforming into The Fiend and echoes he words, “Let me in!”, and the camera fades to black.

12. Segment: WWE Champion Kofi Kingston sits down and responds back to his SummerSlam opponent, “The Viper” Randy Orton, and his claims that there wouldn’t be any Kofi if it wasn’t for Orton. Kingston reflects on rumors dating back 10 years in that Orton used his influence to hold him down, how he’s grinded and worked hard to get to the main event status and how defeating Orton at SummerSlam will bring some vindication.

13. Segment: Backstage, Elias Samson bumps into Chad Gable. He proceeds to mock him on his size, saying he had to be “this” tall to ride with Elias and walks away, leaving Gable distraught with his comments.

14. The New Day (Xavier Woods and Big E Langston) defeat Daniel Bryan and Erik Rowan via disqualification after Rowan. After the match, Bryan and Rowan continue to viciously attack The New Day.

15. Segment: Roman Reigns enters the Smackdown Live locker room and demands them all to leave! — except for Buddy Murphy. Reigns confronts Murphy with regards to the recent mystery attacks especially last night with the car. Reigns says he saw footage that shows Murphy was there and knows who it is. Murphy denies knowing what Reigns is talking about. Reigns asks him a second time and Murphy again denies knowing anything and states that even if he did, he wouldn’t tell him. Reigns proceeds to beat and pummel Murphy all across the locker room until he confesses that he did see the driver: Erik Rowan. Reign has a puzzled and confused look as the camera connects back to the ring where Bryan and Rowan are looking on the giant overhead screen as the show goes off the air.
