MARVEL STUDIOS STILL SEARCHING FOR THEIR KATE BISHOP

Kate Bishop

While the Hawkeye solo series is still on track to start filming and release as initially planned, adding Clint’s brother Barney Barton aka Trickshot and the Tracksuit Mafia, the series that is shaping up to be another solid outing for Marvel Studios and Disney+. But what about their Kate Bishop, who is set to make her MCU debut in the series and take up the mantle of Hawkeye? Well, Marvel Studios is still searching for her…

Kate Bishop

Everyone knows that Marvel Studios is deadset on making Hailee Steinfeld their Kate Bishop and new Hawkeye but as we’ve reported multiple times in the past, that accomplishment is easier said than done. Hailee Steinfeld is one of the biggest stars on Apple’s AppleTV+ roster and due to that status, there’s a clause in Hailee Steinfeld’s contract that restricts her from working with any of Apple’s competitors. Marvel Studios being one of them. So what happens when the goal seems unachievable? Move on to Phase 2 (all puns intended).

According to a new report from MCU Cosmic, while Marvel Studios hasn’t fully moved on from Hailee Steinfeld, as she still remains their top choice. The studio is starting to look ahead at other actresses to potentially fill the role just in case Hailee Steinfeld cannot. MCU Cosmic reports that this next step is not immediate, but is being considered as Marvel’s next step in the near future if all else fails. While no names have been specified to be the runner-ups, MCU Cosmic affirms that these two actresses have what it takes to bring to a life a good interpretation of Kate Bishop if they get called up to the plate.

Marvel Studios has made it a staple of their to cast unknown actors and unknown directors and put them in a position to become massive stars and its a staple of Marvel Studios that has yet to fail. With a track record like Marvel’s, it’s hard to question their decision to potentially move on from Hailee Steinfeld to a much less known actress.
