The internet has been running rampant since Variety reported that Twilight star Robert Pattinson was cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Matt Reeves Batman solo film. While the casting has yet to become official seeing as Nicholas Hoult is also in the running for the role, fan reactions have been mixed.
A new report from Collider and HeroicHollywood states that sources close to The Hollywood Reporter have informed them that The Batman will feature six different villains from Batman’s Rogues Gallery, including Catwoman and The Penguin.
While the neither Pattinson’s or the reports of these two iconic Batman villains have been confirmed. The rumor mill churned for months in regards to The Penguin being one of the villains of the film, if he was not being used in the Birds of Prey film. It seems like that’s the case.
If these reports turn out to be true, this will be third live-action incarnation of The Penguin and the fourth for Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Both of these characters were last seen on Gotham, which just ended a few weeks ago.
